I'm still processing the first few weeks of the new year. I'm seeing themes emerge. There's so much on my mind that I need to weed through, memorize, and keep with me this year. Here are a few notes to self (yes, written to myself) and little things that have been laid on my heart.
01. Pick a word for the year and decide what your focus will be. You keep coming back to health—physical, mental, and spiritual. That means getting a checkup and having your back looked at because you can't keep going on like this. That means exercising (discipline, girl!) and clean eating. & It means opening up your Bible + journaling + delighting in His word. So, what has to be true—that isn't true today—to make these things happen? Put a plan in place and go forth.
02. Feel comfortable in your skin. Worry less, apologize less, stress less. & Smile more, do more, try more. Even if you're scared or uncomfortable. Try giving confidence a chance. Stop being so hard on yourself. Give yourself grace. You go back and forth so much. Encourager and critic. Keep the critic if it's honest and has your best interest at heart and you can grow from it. Otherwise, tell it to SHUT UP. Push yourself one little bit at a time. I believe in you.
03. Journal. Write. Plan. Spend time with yourself and get to know the you you are today. You've gone through lots in your twenties and thank the Lord you have healed and continue to heal. You're turning 29. There's parts of you that are new. Let's get to know each other because we haven't done that in a bit.
04. Smile more. I've seen you this week. You're excited about life and full of so much thankfulness. This is your life, little one. It's a gift. Don't take it for granted, not one second. Don't forget how far you've come and the One who brought you here. Life is worth smiling about. ★
