DIY Projects FTW!

I couldn’t be more proud. This weekend I participated in my first substantial DIY project. My boss wanted to shiplap her wall and after having my parents coach us through how to do it on Saturday, her wall is nearly done. (All she has to do is finish caulking and paint and walla!)

On Friday, we adventured to Home Depot (after celebrating National Margarita Day) and got all the supplies we needed. I learned how to check whether or not a board is bowed. And that you can expect your studs to be about 16 inches apart, depending on what year of house it is. And other things that I never learned growing up. But it was exciting to think that one day when I have a home, I can so do this. (I just need a little coaching from my parents.) Oh, and side note, all this has led me to think of a brilliant business idea!

Wishlist: A Home Office

Having my own home office is my definition of goals. The other day I imagined having the white victorian farmhouse of my dreams (yes, I can dream). Complete with a wrap around porch. I imagine there being a round room off to the side of the home (like this or this) with large tall windows. The room has wood flooring with beautiful white curtains and in the middle of the room is a desk. A beautiful desk just for me. To write, create… browse on Pinterest. And the windows are open, the tree branches nearby are home to birds who are happily singing, and the whole things is just… GOALS. Okay, enough daydreaming.

Here’s some pretty home office decor to swoon over:

Craving Creativity

Planning for: Boston + NYC birthday trip

Listening to: Rescue by Lauren Daigle
