I remember talking to my brother about Chris Kyle on the day that Kyle died. (My brother's into all things military and I always though he was destined to be a soldier. He joined the Army at 17, but that was short-lived after a car fell on his leg.) Anyway, I read the book before I saw the film. The theater on opening night was packed. And, like at the end of Lone Survivor, the crowd cheered. Not just for the movie, but for our heroes. American Sniper was powerful. While the film doesn’t depict Kyle's exact story, it captured the kind of man he was and his family’s struggle. It showed a side of the war that I believe we need to see. And it reminded me how much our military sacrifices. It’s been a few days since I saw the film and I’m still full of emotions. Great movie.
